The Bitch is Back

Long time, no rant.

Soooo, things got bad over here for awhle. Perimenopause sucked, my Dad’s brain tumor came back and we lost him this summer. My husband and I moved in with my family to help my sister take care of my mom.

It’s a lot.

But we’re mostly settled now.

Currently the projects are:
1. Clean out the Nephew’s room so he can use it, instead of it being the dumping area for my hoarder family.
2. Clean my sister’s room out so she feels like she has her own space, too.
3. Shop around my novel series.
4. Catch up at work from the quarter of “I was a useless mess” this fall.
5 Carve out time for me.
6. Continue de-crapping our belongings
7. Attempt to unwind ourselves from Amazon.

Positive things that have happened.

The husband and I joined a powerlifting gym, and it is everything I have ever wanted from a gym. Currently my deadlift is at 90kgs or 198lbs. I am very happy with it. I like picking up heavy shit and putting it back down over and over. Just… so many squats.

I got a snake. He is a ball python, his name is Maestro Linguini and I love him.

We are holding steady at three cats: The Enemy of Sleep (15), Moose (8 or 9) and Ayla (8 or 9). The mob of unruly guppies suffered a die off due to a power outage, but they are rebuilding. I need them to quit eating my tetras.

I’m back, because I need an outlet for my political rantings, and boy do I have a lot of them. You’ll see.

FAQ:
1. Why haven’t I left the US? I’m broke and I have an elderly mother who can’t travel who is in slightly better health than before we moved in, but yeah, no.
2. Shouldn’t you be nice to people starting to come around on the Trump/Musk presidency? Yes and no. If they come around like, “Whoa, this is the wake up call I needed to actually see what’s going on?” I will relatively gently call them a dumbass, but welcome them to the Woke side of the force. If they’re whining about how the Leopards Eating Faces party members they voted in are eating THEIR faces, I will mock with abandon. Because they haven’t really pulled their heads out, they’re just mad that they have hit the Find Out part of “Fuck Around, Find Out” (FAFO).
3. Why should we listen to you? I mean, don’t? Use my posts as jumping off point to explore other sources. But also, I have a degree in history, and most of a second degree in history (all but thesis). And while history doesn’t repeat itself, it sure does rhyme a lot (paraphrased from Mark Twain).

So, yeah, I’m back. I’ll be trying to post here more often.
