I’m still here.
Most of my substantive stuff is over at CA NOW (http://www.canow.org/canoworg for the time being. Yeah, it’s pretty aneurysm inducing.
I’ve also talked about the Lolita Narrative, not the narrative of the novel Lolita, but the mythology of the Lolita particularly in American society that says all 13 year old girls are trying to seduce and destroy older men. And then, yes, I also talked about Polanski. Although I have to say that the single dumbest thing I’ve seen said about the novel Lolita was when I pointed out that you aren’t supposed to sympathize with the lead character (Humbert Humbert), you’re supposed to find him icky and creepy, and someone announced that “They would interpret it any way they want to.” Ok, then.
BUT I am going to try to hit some stuff over here occasionally, and as always, I’m up for suggestions.
