I do. In the post on Christian Persecution, I kind of jumped her shit, and let Mojrim jump her shit as well. And I shouldn’t have done that.
What I meant to say, and thought I was saying, and didn’t and wasn’t, was it doesn’t matter if Christians are actually being persecuted in other parts of the globe IN REFERENCE TO THAT SPECIFIC ARGUMENT because at the risk of sounding a bit jingoistic, WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THAT.
In reference to everyone being pissed off about a redneck preacher wanting to burn the Koran, bringing up “Well, you’re not upset when Muslims burn the Bible,” is a derailing tactic. So, already pissed off about the derailing tactic, I was snippier with PaleReverie than I should have been, and really dismissive, and I wholeheartedly apologize.
The fact remains that the original commenter was attempting to derail the conversation. And I put it to you again, that you know what? Maybe the Bible is being burned in other parts of the world, but WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THAT. We have the separation of church and state. We have freedom of religion (which also includes freedom from religion).
So, I apologize for jumping your shit, PaleReverie. However, I do not apologize for being pissed off about the derailing and persecution complex of the original commenter. In fact, after researching actual persecution of Christians in other parts of the world, it kind of pissed me off more now.
